"Five Dr.s from Bajo hospital visited our school..."

Five doctors from the Bajothang hospital led by DHSO visited our school today to aware us about all the common diseases in and around the globe. They have been trying to visit every school especially in Wangdue dzongkhag and trying to make sure that every student and their parents and the teachers are aware about all types of common diseases. In their presentation they were trying to convey us how the common and deadly diseases like cancer, HIV/ AIDS, TB and all types of common diseases are spread , their symptoms, their medication and very important thing  is, how to prevent form getting these types of diseases and if we happened to suffer from these diseases, they are trying to give us best of best medication both in and out of the nation.
They also talked about teenage pregnancies, substance abuse, and water borne diseases, stress, balance diet, daily exercises and so on. This program was a very important for us as a youth because many of the people who are suffering from these diseases are young youth because they were not aware of getting such diseases. Even though the doctors had a tight schedules in the hospital, they came in our school thinking that they will at least aware the students and through the students they are expecting to aware the outsiders and epically the parents about such diseases. The only way to stay away from getting these diseases is to be always aware and prevent our-self form getting these diseases by applying various strategies. As said “prevention is better than cure”.
 “So eat good balanced diet, do daily exercise, stay away from abusing substance, be aware of these diseases and stay always healthy.”

The marriage customs of Lhotshampa (Rai & Subba)

I attended my two brothers’ marriage ceremony recently who interestingly married the two sisters from the same family. I have had attend many marriage ceremonies in my life but never observed the customs in marriage ceremony. Few years back I attended one in my own village and got to know few things but I gained more knowledge during the brothers’ time and today I thought of sharing here in my blog. There are much more for me to learn and to see yet. First of all there will be two kongpi(s) one from the grooms’ side and one from the brides’ side who knowing every protocols of marriage ceremony generally they will be elders. They are the main mediators between the grooms and brides family who will be taking all the responsibilities of the ceremony. Captainship election for 2014 in BHSS

Today we had the captainship election where we were the VIPs as we are the main candidates. I felt really honored and privilege to be one of them. At the morning we gave our speech to all the Bajo-family sharing our plans and our promises for the well-being of our school and all the students. I thought someone will be calling our names and according that to we have to go in the front to give the speech. Last time when they were announcing the nominee’s names, mine was at the middle that time, I thought we will be following that sequence, so I was relaxingly standing at the side of all the boys but suddenly, present school captain ( Bumika Tamang ) announced “we will start our speech from that side..!” and she was looking at me, I was once shocked when I heard that. I went up to the podium and gave my speech in dzongkha niggchang (pure dzongkha) for two minutes as we are given only two minutes to share our manifestoes and ask for votes. “April fool” the day of fun

Today the 1 st   April,  I believe is the day of fun where even a student can make fun of their teachers and they don’t tend to mind. They say it’s an April fool day. Today is the day where one has to be really careful and conscious because at any time you may be fooled by your friends colleagues relatives and even by family members. I still remember the way how the students starting from a small child up-to teachers enjoying this day and making great moments. The way my friends used to play tricks on others. The really common trick is to say someone “look..! Your shoe lase is untied J ”. Even I was fooled many times by my friends as I don’t used to remember the day. Sometime I used to try my best to remember the day and stay smart but used to fail many times. Project on fabrication of Ferro-cement Bench

As an engineering student, I feel that project works and the seminars are very important part of our curriculum as this is the opportunity where we have to work manually and practically, gaining the practical knowledge and ideas relating those theories that we have learned in the classes, so that we are confident and ready to face the world of engineering. So, for our final semester project we got the topic ‘Fabrication of the Ferro-cement Bench’. Actually, it was supposed to be portable Ferro-cement bench but I don’t think that Ferro-cement benches could be made portable ever, so the topic was changed to fabrication. For our project, I have designed two benches, one is the ferro-cement bench which will be constructed using the thin layer of Portland or the normal cement mortar with thin reinforcement bars. Intra-House Road Race In Bajothang school

On 27th of April 2013, a short road race was conducted in our school i.e .in  Bajothang h,s,s as we conduct annually. The race was among the 8 houses further categorised into Junior i.e. class viii and bellow, and Senior i.e. class ix-xii. Sr.boys were asked to run from our school to khuruthag bridge and again back to the school football ground. Sr.girls, Jr.boys and girls are asked to run little shorter distance respectively.   Sr.boys 1st (Bik Bdr from class xii sci (Dungkar house) this is the khader ceremony awarded to the position holders from each categories. students congratulating their house members with a big round of applause. Many houses scoured ( + )points at same time scoured( - )points, as many runners could not complete the race.

The most dreadful morning-II

With my heart beating at the highest rate and my entire body shivering, I shouted to my house owner who was still on the bed at the next floor asking him to reach me to the school quickly. Hearing my unusual voice he woke at once and as he was kind hearted, he was ready to reach me there. I quickly wrap my gho and run towards the road at my highest speed. I was wondering how could I be so stupid and idiot at the moment and how could I mix up the ‘board time table’? Luckily it was dzongkha otherwise I was dead. I was thinking that the day after is English and the final exam is dzongkha but in reality dzongkha was before english. How could that happen? With nothing in the mind but the fear of principal sir’s growl on seeing me, I reached in the school where the chief invigilator madam was waiting for me at the door of our exam hall and fortunately principal sir was busy talking with someone behind there.
